(no offense to those that like the song)
Honestly, have to say that "Shock Your Mama" is Deb's worst song because she sounded "forced" (ie being somebody she's not)  and the the song sounds almost like a novelty song since I don't know if it's intended to be a joke or  not.

Though not as bad compared to the junk on the radio in the past decade, but still...

I know she was forced by her label to be "edgy" and "sexier" and was dropped after "Body Mind Soul" flopped.

There's better songs on the album like "Losin' Myself" (should've been a hit, though that's another topic), "How Can It Be", "Love Or Money", "When I Say No", and "Goodbye".

"When I Say No", "Little Birdie", "Free Me", "Kisses 4 One" (hmmm, seems like there's a pattern in my list...)

STAND YOUR GROUND
that has to be the worse song that Deborah has ever put on an album
While I can rock out to it sometimes, it is just AWFUL!
To sing that song on the ONE STEP AHEAD tour instead of LEAD THEM HOME MY DREAMS or something else (even another ballad like TRY or WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?) just makes me cringe.
Same with REVERSE PSYCHOLOGY!

There's songs that I listen to more than others, and some that I don't listen to very much, but I don't think I have a song by her that I just can't stand.  Let me put it like this, there isn't one that I have to skip over it when I'm playing that CD.

i pretty much love everything deb has done.  (even the entire bms album lol) but knock 3 times was pretty bad and really didn't fit in with the myob album, which was a nice mix of contempary pop music.

The "NRG up" songs of AIP are the weakest by far, IMO. Completely bland and uninspired. Only another brick falls and anything is possible are listenable.
(Though the "mood swings" has some of the best ballads she ever did, almost on par with theTWYH album. Go figure...)

"Knock Three Times" is pretty bad, I also don't like "The One", but i agree, there was a bit of blandness with the NRG side of AIP.

As for "Body Mind Soul", thats probably my favourite Deb album, I LOVE "Shock Your Mama"!
