Best Deb Ballads (Part One)

OK, another tough poll...
When it comes to ballads, Deb really shows off her voice since she brings out the emotion and has one of the most... heck, Deb has the most beautiful voice and also very versatile since she also can pull off showtunes and uptempo pop songs.
"Lost In Your Eyes" is probably her most popular and also among one of my favorites.
"Heart & Soul", that's among her most beautiful ballad I've heard that wasn't realesed on a regular album.
Some may say that "Losin' Myself" isn't a ballad, though I count it since it's still mellow and different than the traditional ballads Deb have done (nothing wrong with that). Her voice sounds very sensual and much classier than Madonna and many trashy pop singers from the past decade.
One other comment:
"Foolish Beat", made her the youngest artist to write, produce, and record a #1 hit at 17 (wrote at 14) that still holds to this day. Also probably her deepest from that time and really shows her talent as a young songwriter. Not to mention she didn't really have enough experience at the time.
Spring 2008 will mark the 20th anniversay of the song.

i picked , the most beautiful love song, so close to forever and this so-called miracle... but only the long version on the album.. i was upset that they cut the bridge out of the radio version (it's easy to give advice, when ur hearts not in it.....) that part was so dramatic and made the song to me!

I agree Jocelyn, the radio edit of MIRICLE ruined a great song. Of course it was too long for radio, but its a song that loses a lot when edited. It needs the whole 7 minutes.

Forgot when That Way was made but I think it's this era. That's my write in anyway. TMBLS has to be one of her best though it was really hard to choose from this list.

Most people I think know her for "Only in My Dreams" or "Shake Your Love" but her two #1 hits were both ballads. They are her strength and there aren't many that have been as good at them as she has.

Agree
I prefer Deb's ballads over Celine Dion, which I find her too "hammy" (over the top) and Deb's voice is more appealing, IMHO.

Between the Lines, Silence Speaks, and Goodbye were my choices. Good stuff that never got aired really on radio. Lost.. and Foolish.. are good songs, but are more for the ipod adventurous to sample. The fans go deeper...
