I was surfing the Camp EY site a few days ago and came across the tuition fees. Geez you better take out a loan if you want to go. It starts at $250 a day. Its great that she wants to teach young people about the music business hoewever it would really be nice if one day she would just get back to making CD's. But that sure seems like it is not going to happen anytime soon.

You are giving the readers two different ideas in one post and I certainly don't see any link between the two !
Now as far as the price goes, I'm sure if no kids show up at the camp that they'll revise it !!! So nothing to worry !

250 a day... a month (30 or 31 days)... 7,500 or 7,750 dollars per month
A lot of money... yes, but not sure compared to a typical performing arts school. Guessing it's around the average price.

At $250 dollars a day it's dirt cheat compared to what some of these acting organizations cost. Those things go in the thousands of dollars.

Cincinnati public schools has a school called School for creative and perfomring arts SCPA. The kids don't have too pay anything extra to go there all they have to do is audition and get excepted. From what I heard from people who graduated there all you had to was keep your grads at certain grad point average and excell in your craft.

I agree Brin, a new CD is long overdue. WHen you think that MYOB & Tiffanys Colour Of Silence were released in the same year, and since then Tiffany has brought out 1 album of cover versions (a la Colored Lights) AND 2 albums of orininal material. If she can do it then surely Deb can...HURRY UP !!!!!!!!!!

Damn, that sounds pretty awful for Deb when you compare her to a "workhorse" like Tiff lol. If that's true, then so be it. However, Deb did do some TV and other various side projects that takes time away. But I know what you're saying...it's time for a new cd. Enough of the rest.

One thing that does bothers me when Deb has said in many many interviews over the years that she performs every weekend for the past (how many ever years)..........if she is performing that often then how come I haven't ever got to see her live and see her in performance. She should be performing all over the place not just in Calif,NY,NJ, and Florida.

Patty don't feel bad your not the only one who seems too have noticed in the last six months too a year. Deb seems too over exaggerate when doing interviews. It's almost like lying too make herself sound good. She even did this not so long ago when she said she was on tour last fall. I don't call BB Kings and Foxwoods a tour. It's like two shows Deb wow some tour. I don't mean too call her out on it but. Once something is said you can't say you didn't say it. Like last summer how she kept talking about new music its like okay Deb where is it and now she says I wont put out an album until I get signed. Who knows I don't hate her for it just be honest with people that's all we want. Why string people along. Erica One thing that does bothers me when Deb has said in many many interviews over the years that she performs every weekend for the past (how many ever years)..........if she is performing that often then how come I haven't ever got to see her live and see her in performance. I agree 101% with the previous 4 posts in this thread. One thing I can't understand is that when she does perform these concerts that have been talked about how come she does not play any new songs if she is working on them? One would think she would want to try them out to get audience reaction. These pop goes Broadway gigs are ok to a point but how about some new songs. I love going to concerts and a few Broadway songs are ok but I would rather hear some new music. Since it does not sound like she will be performing any new songs at her upcoming AC Shows I don't think I will be going. It is going to be very intersting to hear about these shows and also the number of people that actually attend the shows.
So she is not going to make a CD until she gets a record deal. I would like to know how many singers not only from Deb's Era of popularity but from other Era's make CD's on thier own. I think her good buddy Richard Marx makes his own CD's and sells them. I would think Tiffany has done the same. I am sure there are many others. Geez all you really have to have now a days is a decent computer and some recording equipment and you can make a CD.
We have heard about this CD of new music and the songs she has written for how many years now. After a while you begin to wonder if you don't see a new CD. It is a real shame it has come to this becuase she writes such beautiful music and has such a beautiful voice and is so talented.

I think the reason why she isn't performing any new songs is because she's auditioning those to labels and she doesn't want to take the chance of performing new material that might not be recorded. If she did then I know she would get bombarded with questions about why that song hasn't been recorded, where can we find it, why did you perform that if it wasn't going to be on an album, things like that. It's really a catch 22.

... A new album only if she has a record deal. She mentionned that a couple of years ago, so there's nothing new here, it should be old news for you folks. As far as your other comment I quoted ... Please, stop the pain ! If you wonder how many singers make CD's on their own, I don't know but you can certainly add Deborah to your list ! Perhaps you forgot about Deborah and M.Y.O.B. ! Order them online, they're worth it ! So perhaps after that endeavour, she wanted to make things differently which she decided to do a couple of years ago (read my first line) and that is still the track she is in !!! And don't give me one of those 'oh then she should switch track' because she has the full right to do what she wants with her career and I guess that's because she has always done so that her fans still like her ! But of course, some fans tends to forget that ! And the last line you wrote ... I felt my mental health going down a few notch while reading it. You know damn well that ain't the issue. The big problem with having your own label and releasing it yourself is not the cost of production but the cost of distribution and even getting a good distribution deal in the first place. The major labels are big enough to have their own in-house distribution but at the same time they sort of muscle the smaller, independent labels out of the way. Internet sales are one thing but you can't rely on them alone. You have to have in store sales as well to have a successful album and that's the one area where the major labels can make it very difficult for the independent ones.
