I only have a few magazine clippings from the past several years (ie OK Magazine, Best/Worst dressed), Playboy, and an autographed picture from 1990 of her I bought  online some years ago, and video tapes (three tapes from her reign as pop princess and "What You Want").

Not much, though I don't have much room anyways. Smiley

I've got the three VHS tapes and a bunch of posters and magazine clippings from oh, 1988 to 1992.  Somewhere I have interviews from the OOTB and EY eras on VHS.  I think I also have an empty EY perfume bottle...wonder if the scent still lingers on the sprayer...

I can't put any of the official Deb VHS online, so that's why there is nothing on my site on that, because of DGIF. Possibilities tour I got given, small bits on the site here and there. Pictures, I have a large folder of when Deborah was actually in magazines here, much of needs to be scanned properly. I bought "What you want" VHS, can't be online because of DGIF. Audio clips, all online, nobody seems to have recorded any of her radio interviews so that's why it's such a small section. Multiple copies of Playboy.

Certainly haven't gone mad with stuff like concert books, concert passes, Deborah's pants, and what other ridiculous stuff you can find on places like fleabay.

There was someone on Ebay over the past week who unloaded a bunch of stuff for sale.  I was tempted to bid on the cd collection, but got a little gunshy about it.  Fan club newsletters, pics, Broadway programs, even tickets to Atlantic City shows I think...

I always kinda wonder what makes someone just give up a collection like that (other than the Playboy pics, which they've should have gotten over by now)

Maybe the rent was due, who knows...it's not like the economy here in the States is something to behold at the moment... Tongue

I can't speak for everyone, but I can give my own reason for selling some of my Deb items.  While I still love Deb and am still a huge fan I just don't feel the need to own all of that stuff anymore.  now that I'm in my 30's and have my own house I don't care so much about looking through the old fan club magazines, or hanging up old posters, etc.   There are certain things that mean a lot to me and I'll never get rid of them.  I went through my Deb stuff last week and am currently trying to decide what I don't want anymore  and what I'm willing to sell on eBay.

"Pocket Rocker"

Something I've never heard of, though strange since Walkmen were around and cassettes were very much common.

Probably flopped for the reasons I've  mentioned since a cassette holds about 60 minutes of music rather than two songs with exception of cassette singles.

Quote
This is a miniature cassette tape for Fisher Price's 1988 Pocket Rockers.  It has two songs by Debbie Gibson on it.  'Shake Your Love' and 'Only In My Dreams'.  It has been well taken care of and is in perfect working condition.  Also includes a clip(holds tapes so you can hook them on you belt or pocket.) and a song card(in has facts and a trivia question on it).

I have 2 of the pocket rockers above, but they are sealed.  I would love to know what the fun facts are.

I wonder what were the facts, though I assume common facts like she wrote "Only In My Dreams" at 13 and some "teenybopper" stuff like whatever movie she liked or favorite season.

When you flip open the card it says

"Debbie Gibson began writing music when she was five years old.  This teenager from Long Island, New York, is one of the youngest stars on the charts.  She wrote her very first single "Only In My Dreams," when she was 16.  It was released in spring of 1987 and soon hit the top of the dance and pop charts.  Debbie's first album, "Out of the Blue," features 10 songs which she wrote."

I think she wrote "Only In My Dreams" when she was 13 or 14.

On the "Out of the Blue" video compilation, Deb stated to have written "Only In My Dreams" at 13.

I never had them but I remember them.  Not many kids had them that I know of when they came out.  Most of us just rather bought the real deal.

They were kind of a gimmick really.
