Which are your top three favorite videos from Deb from the 1980's?
Top 10 early Deb videos (in no order, except for #1 which I think is her all time best)
10. We Could Be Together Her fifth single from "Electric Youth", which didn't chart the top 40. Though still a fun video, which featured her family, friends, band members, and dancers having fun.
9. Staying Together Her fourth single from "Out of the Blue". It's a concert video featuring clips from her "Out of the Blue" tour concert and candid backstage footage. Sort of like most hair band videos at the time.
8. Electric Youth Title track from her second album, which was the second single from. Though it's not one of her best nor worst songs, it's still a fun video to watch. It begins with Deb talking about the meaning of the song with images of celebrities and then she dances with several people, including her dancers. This was the only video from Deb that was nominated for a Video Music Award, for Best Art Direction, but lost to Madonna's "Express Yourself". Though I personally think this video is better since the "Express Yourself" video was lame, which ironically "Electric Youth" was ranked as the 10th worst video on "MTV 25 LAME" (1999). Which I strongly disagree since I find most videos from current rappers & pop acts inane and tasteless.
7. No More Rhyme Her third single from "Electric Youth". "No More Rhyme" is a well done video with great camera effects and lighting. This video also featured a cameo from Danica McKellar from "The Wonder Years". Deb looked beautiful, as always, in this video.
6. Shake Your Love Her second single from "Out of the Blue", which the video was choreographed by Paula Abdul and featured dancers (including Robia LaMorte from the tv version of "Buffy"), a classic car, and bright colors. A typical fun '80's dance pop video.
5. Only In My Dreams Her debut video from her debut album "Out of the Blue". Basically a fun video featuring Deb on the beach & a few carnival rides. Music videos aren't they they used to be anymore.
4. Lost In Your Eyes Her first single from her second album "Electric Youth", which is also one of the best love songs of all time. I tend to melt when I hear one of her ballads, including "Lost In Your Eyes". Deborah looked very beautiful in this video.
3. Anything Is Possible Her first single from her third album, which was a minor, but unfortunately quickly forgotten, hit. This video featured Deb's new look, which she traded her black hat for a short hair style & a see through shirt. Which she looked sexy, though not 'over the top' like Madonna. It also reminds of those Fly Girl segments from "In Living Color.
2. Out Of The Blue Title track from her debut album. The video featured her relatives Monica & Denise and Jeff Russo, who later became one of the members of Tonic. Also a fun video with Deborah flipping through her scrap book with images moving. And first video to feature her trademark black hat.
1. Foolish Beat Beautifully done classic from Deb's fourth single from 'Out of the Blue', which made her the youngest artist to write, produce, & record a #1 hit. The video also shows her acting, which she was actually crying in one scene. Should've been nominated for a Video Music Award in 1988.
Also "What You Want" (2001), Deborah looks hot, as always, in the video which she lays on her glass plated piano, which was once owned by Liberace.
