Following the Playboy venture of 2005, I vowed never to buy anything from Deborah again; I ended my membership in DGIF but remained a member of this forum. Since then, however, I have visited it very seldomly and only posted 7 messages(they are now deleted). After some profound thought, however, I have decided to retire from Deb-Ski in that it no longer makes any sense for me to remain a member of it. I am convinced that Deborah will never be the same again after Playboy; I have lost interest and so it's time for me to move on. The reason that I am posting this message is only to announce my departure and thus is not meant to offend anyone here. It was great knowing all of you...and now I shall depart with a quote from Deborah's BMS album:
Goodbye... How do you say goodbye? Do I just look you in the eye, Shake your hand, Wish you well; After all this time, I never wanted for goodbye.
Goodbye.

Hey it's obvious that Deb is losing fans, she needs to change in her career. I wish she gets it, she is a great artist and great person. We must be close her for Better or Worse.

Jordi.
A different career... singer/songwriter songwriter (for other artists) producer stage actress actress in indie films and some tv roles screen writer ("Skirts", "The Flunky") author (I think she wrote or co-wrote her own autobiography) reality show contestant ("Skating With Celebrities", atleast wasn't as humilating compared to other shows) reality talent show judge/online talent show judge teacher at a performing arts camp that she created She pretty much done many things and she's fine as a singer/songwriter.

Hi friends. Woops, I agree you on you say. Deb is a great singer/songwriter But now... Where are those song she compose, no new songs? What about her last albums MYOB and Colored Lights? songwriter (for other artists) yes, but are they great singers with suscess? producer, but no like time ago with her own albums. stage actress, yes but the last time I saw Deb playing was in South Pacific on November 2006 actress in indie films and some tv roles, yes but what kind of movies. screen writer ("Skirts", "The Flunky")but, has anybody seen those musicals on theatre? author (I think she wrote or co-wrote her own autobiography), I got two books Between The Lines and anothe bokk wich I don't remember the title, I have it on somewhere in my house. reality show contestant ("Skating With Celebrities", atleast wasn't as humilating compared to other shows) reality talent show judge/online talent show judge. Well I've not seen those shows, I can't talk about it. teacher at a performing arts camp that she created. I can't talk about it, I've not seen it.
She pretty much done many things and she's fine as a singer/songwriter.
Yes she is a great star, but maybe is her manager or producer how need a change. What about her staff? I was talking with Deb on November 2006 about her staff, then she told me that there was few persons in her staff, this was the reason wich there wasn't Chats, Questions & Anwers, DGIF Days and more things on her Website. After to talk with Deb on Nov 2006 in Fresno, looked the things cameback again, but for few days. The conexion between Deb and her fans has disappeared and she walways says that she loves all her fans, but I think it's no possible without conexion. Her website, Deborah-Gibson.com, has lost lots of members. If you have been members on this forum you could have seen the changes from more to less. She has lots of projects on her head, but she needs someone who believe on her someone who make all projects true, and looks her mum and staff are busy with another things. I don't know what's happening really, this was one of the reasons of my crazy trip to LA. I've tryed to give my help to the Deb's staff, but always without answer. And now I can't do anything, she thinks I'm a psychopath. Six years trying help her, here in spain nobody knows about her and I've gone at lot of radio stations and press talking about her, but nothing they doesn't want to know about her. Deb told me that I'm her best comercial, but I can't do anything here. I'm tired but, I don't lose the hope to see her on the top ten again, with or without fans. I never will say her Goodbye.
Jordi.

It's a shame to lose a member, but Deborah really hasn't done anything significant on the music front. And as we get older, most of us have found other artists which are actually producing stuff.
In part it's down to Deborah's terrible PR machine. The official site doesn't inspire you to visit it often, or at all, they have never sent me a press release or photos to put on my Deb site - other companies do contact me occasionally to put up information about an even they are doing, but not DebInc..
Show tunes may be something that Deborah likes, but "Colored Lights" was not a hit because it's such a specialist area. Moving onto M.Y.O.B. there were a limited number of tracks that had potential, but weren't released.
The only hope Deborah has now is to release stuff on her own, not deliberately limited to fanclub member, and using CD-R's (not the overpriced CD-R run they originally did of their first attempt). I seriously doubt anyone would want to have Deborah on a commercial label, especially with her kind of terms.

It's interesting to see people try to put down Deb once she appeared in playboy. There are many different people that agree or disagree on this topic. I really could care less if she did appear in playboy. It kinda surprises me when people say they are no longer going to listen to Deb just because she did a few pictures in a magazine. She is a grown woman and she can make her own choices. I looked at the pictures and I was like well, it's ok. I mean shes not drop dead gorgeous. It was actually tastefully done I thought.
Anyways to lose a member over this? He wasn't a true fan. Debheads will stick by Deb no matter what! WHO'S WITH ME ON THIS ONE!!!

I think if Deborah actually put out a new album, then people wouldn't be so quick to drop her.
But the fact is that, to me Deborah was always about more then good music. I loved her songs, I loved what I thought she stood for, and doing playboy negated all that.
I'm still holding out for a new album, but i can completley understand people leaving her where she is after playboy.
Playboy was a big dissapointment to me (she's her own woman blah blah blah...but i AM allowed an opinion on it) and her treatment of Jordi showed that she dosent actually stand for what i thought she stood for. I wont be leaving here, or DGIF, but if she dosent put out some new music soon then what is there to be a fan of?
