One of my favorite groups from the 1980's was the Pet Shop Boys. I have a couple of their CDs from that era. I kind of lost track of them over the years and then in 2006 I heard they were going to tour here in the USA. Unfortunatly I was unable to atttend when they came through Los Angeles.

A few days ago I was sufring the net saw that they had released a DVD from the tour in 2006. It was taped in Mexico City a few days after they were in LA. So I bought the DVD yesterday. WOW great DVD all those great songs sound new again. The lighiting the songs all make for a great show. The DVD is titiled "Cubisim." If you were a fan of the PSB I think you will emoy the DVD. Hearing all those great songs reminds me of what a great era the 80's was for pop music.

Are there any PSB fans here?

Not a huge fan, but I like some of their hits like "West End Girls", "Opportunities", and "What Have I Done To Deserve This".

Same here, not a huge fan but their best of is one of the CDs I listen to every now and then. West End Girls, Opportunities, What Have I Done To Deserve This (fantastic Dusty Springfield vocals here), Being Boring and Rent rank amongst my faves.

Pet Shop Boys performance at the 2009 Brit awards

Also features Lady GaGa didn't really sing much (ie parts of the chorus of "West End Girls") and thankfully only appeared towards the end.

If she had been around in the 1980's, she probably would just be a one hit wonder and also wouldn't have a cult following either.

I love the duet they did with Kylie Minogue, but also I love their song written for the hit British series, Absolutely Fabulous....you can see the video for it on You Tube
