The bumpers were actually used in 2002 with the current logo plastered on.

Don't remember, though wasn't watching Cartoon Network much at that time... Good that they're showing something from their vault.

Also noticed an intro of "The Pink Panther Show" on This TV I haven't seen before that features the actual theme from Henry Mancini and footage of the Panther eating the background (taken from "Pink Outs") and turning into the title card with a picture of his face with the show's title.

"Rabbitson Crusoe" aired today, which hasn't been released on DVD.

While it's not the best Bugs vs. Yosemite Sam, there's some funny moments with Sam having to get past the shark to get to the matches.

Looking at Cartoon Network's schedule for next week, appears that they're showing the most of the same Looney Tunes shorts shown from the past two weeks...

Comic Con is coming up again this July and I know you would find a lot of animation classics there.  You might also pay a premium for it but there will probably be stuff that's impossible to find anywhere else.

That's why you've got to grab them the day they go on sale.  I figure there will be a lot of vintage anime stuff there.

Cartoon Network's next week airing of Looney Tunes (well, from April 25th) appears to have more variety with the characters.

Though notice two mid 60's (post Chuck Jones) Road Runner cartoons. Takes me back to Looney Tunes on Nickelodeon in the 1990's... Roll Eyes

This week's batch is the same cartoons that aired few weeks ago with mostly Bugs Bunny and atleast one or two Tweety shorts per hour.

Cartoon Network is still showing the original Looney Tunes in the first week of May.

Though no special marathon before the premiere of the upcoming show nor the weekend (though "Looney Tunes Back In Action" is airing instead  Tongue ).

This TV will "The All New Pink Panther Show" featuring Crazy Legs Crane and "new" made for tv  Pink Panther cartoons.

Aired on ABC in 1978/1979 and the Pink Panther shorts were also released theatrically. (didn't know they still played animated shorts before movies by that time!)

Honestly, Pink Panther cartoons was already running low on steam by the second half of the 1970's since they were becoming more hit & miss.

The "made for tv" cartoons weren't any better since the background music changed, which sounded cheesy and used repetitively and the Panther nolonger has his cool demeanor.

Few shorts were tolerable from "Pink Tails For Two", which his tail becomes long, and "Pink Trumpet" with the short man with the big nose being annoyed by the Panther's trumpet playing.

Crazy Legs Crane cartoons were OK (in small doses), though not as funny as the Ant & Aardvark. The cartoons have been shown as filler on Boomerang from time to time. It featured a dopey crane that's after a dragonfly that's actually part dragon and sometimes paired with his son or nephew who's similar to Sylvester Jr.

Intro

Actually not bad. It features a remix  of the classic theme.

20 years ago on this day, MTV's experimental animation series "Liquid Television" first aired. It spawned spin-offs of Aeon Flux and Beavis & Butt-Head.

It was a a half hour of twisted, bizarre art house/independent animation that are/were more common in film festivals such as Spike & Mike.

Used to watch it whenever it's on reruns, though the channel was focusing more on certain shows in 1996/1997. (also it was already cancelled a few years earlier in 1994).

There was a follow up called "Cartoon Sushi" that lasted a season or two.

"Liquid Television" promo

Crazy Daisy Ed: Landlord, one of the several Crazy Daisy Ed shorts that aired on the show.

"Technological Threat"

"Genie Junkie"

Cat & Mouse at The Home, a retired cartoon duo (ie Tom & Jerry) at the retirement home

"Twitch & Writhe" Elwy & The Tree Weasels  Cheesy

From "Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures" and parody of a certain chipmunk singing group

Despite that it was loosely based on the '40's cartoon character, the show was several years ahead of it's time and featured many directors, animators, & writers who would later work on popular shows & movies including Bruce Timm & John Kricfalusi.

The first incarnation of "The Pink Panther Show" package will resume in July on This TV with interstitial bumpers and the catchy theme ("Have You Ever Seen A Panther That Is Pink").

Some included interaction between Pink Panther & the Blue Aardvark, which they would compete against each other on sound imitations to the Panther giving him some chili powder at a BBQ when the Aardvark was looking for the ant. For some reason, they're not included in the bonus features on the DVD set.

The 1978 "The All New Pink Panther Show" only featured brief sneak previews of the next short.

This TV also airs various DePatie-Freleng shorts as fillers after movies. Have seen a Mister Jaws cartoon, which is plain bad and doesn't  have the "so-bad-it's-good" quality of the Crazy Legs Crane shorts.

From October of last year, This has shown about over 72  episodes from most of the tv packages with The Inspector, Ant & Aardvark, and Crazy Legs Crane. With two episodes per week.

The release date has been announced, which is October 4th

Still mostly mid '60's Rudy Lavirra & Robert McKimson directed Road Runner shorts and few from the past 15 years including the three CGI shorts from 2010.

"Sugar & Spies" had some potential with Wile E. Coyote using a spy kit, which would've been better if had been done earlier (though was done to cash in with the mid '60's espionage craze).

"Boulder Wham!", which featured the Coyote trying to catch the Road Runner from another cliff, isn't a good short.

The mid 60's cartoons featured reused/limited animation, the strange opening intro, and cheesy background music. Not to mention lacking exagerrated facial expressions.

Nickelodeon used to air them in the 1990's and few have been shown on Cartoon Network recently.

Cartoons featured:

source

* Whizzard of Ow (2003, Bret Haaland)
* Chariots of Fur (1994, Chuck Jones)
* Little Go Beep (2000, Spike Brandt)
* Sugar and Spies (1966, Robert McKimson)
* Clippety Clobbered (1965, Rudy Larriva)
* The Solid Tin Coyote (1966, Rudy Larriva)
* Out and Out Rout (1966, Rudy Larriva)
* Shot and Bothered (1966, Rudy Larriva)
* Chaser on the Rocks (1965, Rudy Larriva)
* Highway Runnery (1965, Rudy Larriva)
* Boulder Wham (1965, Rudy Larriva)
* Hairied and Hurried (1965, Rudy Larriva)
+ 3 theatrical shorts from 2010: "Coyote Falls", "Fur of Flying", and "Rabid Rider (all directed by Matthew O'Callaghan)

No Chuck Jones Road Runners (from the 1950's/1960's), Bugs vs. Wile E. Coyote, or Wolf & Sheep Dog cartoons that haven't yet been released on DVD.
