Did anyone see the you tube video where Deborah basically answers the question if she is a Dem or a Republican by showing a picture of an elephant?

God Save The World if she really is.  Who the hell would have thought that about her?  BARF!

Adam Sandler and Jon Bon Jovi  are Republicans

Scarlett Johansson and Will Smith are Democrats

Can't stand both Bill O'Rielly (Rep) nor Oprah (Dem).

Personally, for celebrities it's he talent that matters most rather than their political parties, IMHO

I've always thought Deb was a bit conservative. Though she have appeared on Fox News several more times than other news channel in the past few years. Atleast she mostly talks about her career and the music industry rather than her political views like certain celebrities of both parties.

edited: I was thinking of favorite celebrities from both political parties though Scarlett's mostly a celebrity crush and only prefer Bon Jovi's hits from the '80's.

I remember back in the 90's Deb voted  for Bill Clinton in the past but I thought she was just showing off the elephant because she was talking about being in the King and I and trying to do some cheesy plug for the up coming show that I am surprised isn't listed on her website or her Myspace page.  Whoever is running both are really slipping considering thats what they are for advertisment.  No I am not blameing anything on Deb.

Wow too my surprise around the time I posted this.  I check about a half hour ago someone posted a new blog on Deb's myspace both at the King and I and the my little pony charity thing.

No i actually looked at the time when I posted it.  It had been posted.  A few minutes before but I hadn't gone into my myspace since 6pm that same evening.  The post was like 9:02 or so I posted around 9:30ish.

I am a Republican. Smiley
Jon Bon Jovi is a Democrat, or has been in the past. Deb also has voted Democrat in the past. If she is now voting Republican, good for her! Go Deb!

My gut feeling is that she's a Democrat but I could be wrong.  She is somewhat conservative, at least compared to Hollywood she is.  There are more Republicans in Hollywood than people think there are.

Hello people....I have been lurking here awhile, though I will probably stop because of comments like the above.  You know, if the people who own this site don't want to moderate it, then I can't make them.  Why you would let people make insulting comments like the one above scare off the few fans Debbie has left I don't know...but it's too bad because Debbies career is alive and her music holds up very well.

Obviously, people here are not clear about what Deb's politics are...and that's a good thing!   I do not want to know.  I do not like it when actors and singers use their fame they have achieved from their professions and use it as a soapbox to express their political opinions.  They are not getting that soapbox because of what they know, but because they are a famous entertainer.

I have no problem with people having a different political view than I do (unlike A Million Pieces, obviously) unless they are just really hateful and preachy about it (like A Million Little Pieces).

This guy is complaining about Debbie when obviously she has never used her fame to promote her political beliefs.  On top of that, most people here seem to think her beliefs are the opposite of what this guy is complaining they are.  The woman is from New York, works in the entertainment industry and lives part time in Los Angeles...I would assume, and have always assumed that she is not a Republican.  But I don't care what her beliefs are because she doesn't make them an issue.

In any case, holding up a picture of an Elephant is hardly heavy handed support for your beliefs.  If only all celebrities were this polite.  The people here seem to think what you saw was taken out of context anyway.

Obviously, what you are upset about isn't that she is using her fame to preach her political beliefs (which she is not) but that she isn't using her fame to express her liberal beliefs which you share.

The large majority of the film and music industry shares your beliefs.  Many of them share your extremely smug, hateful attitudes too.  You won't have any trouble, in both music and film, finding many people who hate the majority of things about America more than they hate the terrorists.  This attitude is all over the place.  However, I don't see Debbie preaching at her concerts about how evil capitalism is and making up bizarre conspiracy theories about the war in Iraq and about how evil America and our troops are for participating in it.  I don't see Deb making any really strong political comments.

Oh, and I consider the gay rights issue to be a moderate one, with support from people in both parties.  Nobody has a problem with her talking about issues like these.

I see people on this board complaining about how terrible Debbie and her management treat her fans, but anymore I am just thrilled that she isn't participating in "Vote For Change" concerts, and donating the proceeds from her concerts to MoveOn.org, like REM, Sheryl Crow and the Boss did.

What Deb does do, is sing about universal messages that *everyone* can relate to.  Music can very philosophical and loaded with messages without being loaded with specific political messages.

So I am sure A Million Little Pieces will be just fine listening to his System Of A Down records as they help to save the world from women holding up pictures of elephants.

That is NOT electric!

She should keep her mouth shut since she and her management have alienated a lot of the entertainment industry.  She should stick to her talent and nothing else.

In most cases she could not donate any proceeds from shows to charity organizations because she can barely get people to go to a show where she is the only performer.  Events that already have a base and sell tickets where she is not the only performer, yes, but that is because she is seeking promotion.  Smart.

Scare off the few fans that she has left?  HA HA!  I appreciate that one.  But, I can't take the credit for Deborah losing her fans.  Her management, her attitude, and her decisions all are to blame.

It is nice to know that my comment/opinion is read into so much.  You all know me so well.  Wow, if you only did know...it would hit you like a ton of bricks!

And I would not want Deborah talking politics.  I was just shocked at what I READ INTO!  OMG!  I HAVE AN OPINION!  AAAHHH!!!  RUN FOR THE HILLS!  As always, thanks for the laughs!

PS Luke happy to hear that you are a lurker.  Thanks for posting your opinion.  Nice to know that your opinion is what matters but no one elses.  OOOHHHH DOUBLE STANDARD LUKE!    THANKS FOR MAKING ME LAUGH MORE!

Really it doesn't bother me who she votes for.  I just care about who I vote for.
