It has been a long time since I have posted here, but I just felt this need to come and post a topic......Glad to see that Deborah has a high count of votes this week on WMPH's Total Control!!! I am so ready for a new disc from Deborah, but I know she has been working on getting a new lable! I would like to see Debs go into a heavy dance album like Tiffany did with Dust Off And Dance, as creative and talented as Gibson is, I am sure here disc would be a whole lot better than Tiffany's album was....seemed to me that whole disc sounded the same with different lyrics on each song.  I would like to see Gibson tackle a song like Madonna and Justin Timberlake did with 4 Minutes...in fact it would be great to see Deborah and Justin hook up on a similar note.  I also would like to see Deborah do a song like Mariah's Don't Forget About Us, I bet she would get a great groove on for a similar tune. If Deborah ever does come to this site and read what we are posting, this fan is very ready for a new disc!!!!! Grin

Everyone wants a new album and Deborah knows that we do but these label deals move slow.

Deb singing with Justin Timberlake, uh...no. Though doubt it.

I'd probably like to hear an album that's like a cross between "Think With Your Heart" and "MYOB" with ballads and contemporary upbeat pop songs (more akin to Kelly Clarkson or Natasha Bedingfield rather than Pussycat Dolls)

I really wouldn't want Deborah to have anything to do with Justin Timberlake.

Hmm, If Deb wants to find inspiration in Tiff's music, I'd rather see her make something similar to Color of Silence. A Deborah/TWYH/Color of silence mix would be great. I'd love her to throw a bit of Hold an old friend's hand in too, but that was 20 years ago and neither Tiff nor Deb will ever do music like that again  Sad

I third the anti-Timberlake theme.  I will conceed though he is a powerful influence in regards to the industry.  But his image and his music is...well, something left to be desired.

I don't respect Justin Timberlake.  Not after he tried to put all the blame on Janet Jackson and make himself look like a saint.

Never liked him since he was in N'Sync about a decade ago.

There's a very few pop artists from this decade I'm into, and he's not one of them.

Oh I agree OOTB.  Don't confuse the industry with loving him and me, cause I dislike him.  I don't like any thing he did and the publicity which has always surrounded him (at least post-N'SYNC) has been horrible outside of selling himself off.  The industry has created a bad.$$. (if you catch my drift.*)  Why?  Cause girls love them and thus will buy his music.  It didn't start with Janet Jackson, but rather when the industry had Britney Spears on top, saying how she was still a virgin.  Then prompted Justin to come out boasting he took it.

Do I really really care about any of it?  No.  But I do think it sends poor message(s) to people, especially younger girls.  Don't think I'm a prude either, cause I'm not.  But I'd much rather girls make their own decisions rather than having role models who do the thinking for them.  Cause didn't Deb. admit to losing her virginity at 14 or something?  I have no problem with that, but more so if it was her choice.

[*sorry, I haven't gone thru the guidelines in years, so I'm unfamiliar with the specifics of typing vulgarities on here.]

I remember that Deborah said she lost her virginity at 19, which is older than average for a Gen Xer.  Back when I was in high school it seems like most of the girls had lost their's by the time they graduated.

Yeah, I was gonna say she lost it at 19...then I thought..."hang on, do I really need to be picking someone up on that mistake" hahaha. But yeah, she said it was 19 during the Playboy promotion.

I know an album won't be released anytime soon and this comment is just a thought...

Deb might probably go towards the country route.

Though not a fan of the genre, I know Deb's a fan of country music and even sang a few covers (noticed a House of Blues performance on YouTube, forgot title...).   Also wrote a song for  Billy Ray Cyrus.

Bon Jovi, Jewel, Kid Rock, and Jessica Simpson have done it in the past decade.

She have stated that she wanted to release a country album in the past, but didn't for some reason.

I think you will all be shocked by the direction that Deborah has ventured depending on what songs she releases.  She has been doing lots of different things.

Deborahs been twittering alot this weekend :

*It's the weekend! Back in studio - slammmmmin' guitars goin' on my fave new tune courtesy of Tim Kobza! He rocks
*Just spoke 2 Bob n we're brainstorming super cool new exclusive stuff to bring u so stay tuned!
*Lyric teaser : "Let's never sleep on a fight......". From DON'T WAKE ME (title may change!)
*One of my camp gals came up with the title/hookline for this song! How cool is that?!?
*Working on a new tune n I have no idea what musical direction it's heading.....it's in skeletal form still! Exciting
*Just sent Bob a pic of me n Taylor Swift. It'll be the site soon......I love her! Still in guitarland
*I actually say the words "peas n carrots" in a song! Huh?!?Quirky n whimsical tune kinda like Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours"!
*G'mornin'! Comping vocals! May be safe to say I'm sick of listening to the tiny nuances of my voice, pitch, etc!
*the rest of 'em! So weird for me cuz I'm usually so careful w/my voice and I really cut loose and it felt so free!
*Matt Goss used 2 say his warmup wuz singing loud and rocky w/his fave songs n my 1st tune was so rocky it warmed me up 4
*Finished all my vocals 2nite! Feel SO gr8 bout these new tunes.....thought I was gonna do 1 tune and ended doing 4! FUN

Quote
is recording a new album that will be released later this year
source

The latest news of Deb moving with her beau also mentioned that she's working on an album (well, kinda obivious), though would have to wait n' see since there's been rumors about her working on an album for a while...

Will she make a comeback... A moderate comeback is likely, though she did appear on the A/C  chart a  few years ago with the Jordan Knight duet "Say Goodbye". Doubt it would be anything like Tina Turner.

A few years ago, I actually thought she would make a full out comeback, though my opinion have changed from comments from other boards and the state of the music industry.
