My musical tastes varies to whatever catches my interest from alternative, new wave, 80's pop, classic rock, R&B, and some songs from the '60's/70s, '80's hair bands, and old school hip hop from the '80's/early 1990's.
Favorite artists: U2, Natasha Bedingfield, Depeche Mode, Def Leppard, Aerosmith, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Janet Jackson, Prince, Beastie Boys, LL Cool J, Van Halen, INXS, Duran Duran, Green Day, Talking Heads, etc.
Not into gangsta rap (except a very few songs), country, speed metal, and polka (except Weird Al).

Alison Krauss, who is a bluegrass artist, but in many ways is contemporary of Deb, in that she was a child prodigy, and she plays her own instrument.

Virtually no new "music", because none of it is any good. In 2007 I bought ONE CD single it's that bad ("The Way I Are" by Timbaland).
I do like listening to Natasha St.Pier, Hansi Hinterseer, classical and pop music from 1950's upto 1990's.

Sometimes there's a few songs I like from genres I don't normally listen to like Andrews Sisters' "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" or "Closer" from industrial rockers Nine Inch Nails.

I like a wide variety of music. Mostly 80's, but from todays singers my absolute favorite is Katie Melua. Absolutly beautiful voice especially live. Katie is definitly the best voice I have ever heard live. If you go to you tube just search for Katie Melua AVO Session. I was not at the show but it is a great example of just how good she is in concert. Her newest CD "Pictures" is great.
Others I like Leann Rimes, Taylor Swift. Carrie Underwood is another fave whom just saw in concert last thursday with Keith Urban Carrie was great. Her Carnival Ride CD is actually one of my favorite CDs I have bought in the last few months. If my memory serves me correctly I think she sang just about every song from Carnival Ride at the concert last week. Andrea Ross is another favorite along many others. Janet Jackson is another favorite. Her new CD is ok at least there are a few good songs on there unlike 20 YO which was definitly my least favorite CD of hers.
Later Bruce

Recently, I've been listening to some old school hip hop.
Also '80's mainstream top 40 rock/pop and from this decade: some Duffy, Natasha Bedingfield, and Ting Tings

My guilty pleasure is American Idol. My two favorite Idols' are Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. I have seen Carrie live twice. But I have yet to see Kelly. But Kelly is coming out with a new CD in March and I hope she tours because I would love to see her live. Here is a link to the first single from the upcoming CD. It sounds great I can't wait for the full CD after hearing the single. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h09_1qdkFIA&fmt=18

As for collecting music: vinyl, CDs, a few cassettes (personal mixtapes), and music video compilation DVDs/tapes. Though I listen on YouTube and satellite radio (which comes with the satellite tv package).

I pretty much consider myself "Old School Top 40" though sometimes some that were never mainstream, but still overplayed in some "niche" radio stations

Re-discovered The Go-Go's, which I haven't listened to much for over a decade. Most of their songs are actually quite good. One of the best new wave bands of the '80's.
Favorite songs: "This Town", "Our Lips Are Sealed", "Lust To Love", "We Got The Beat", "Vacation", "Cool Jerk", "Turn To You", "Yes Or No", and "Head Over Heels".
