Like every artist/band (indie acts to once popular artists that still releases music), film, genre, whatever, Deb has a niche audience and doesn't really have a wide appeal.

Not to sound rude, but don't know anybody who listens to her music (outside of fans) and have tried to get people interested, but have failed.

I honestly think a come back is possible! I have said she comes darn close....Losin' Myself did hit a small peak, and then she went silent when BMS failed.  Then you have the Think With Your Heart album, and I heard For Better Or Worse on a few stations here in my home state of Indiana.....again silence, but then again I did see her on Rikki Lake and Step By Step in that period.  Then we got the song Only Words, and this even made a compilation, the single was on Club Mix 98, and RuPaul had her singing the club mix....then Rosie had her on the show she had, again, a full club mix version of the song......Gibson does hit a mark when she makes these slight come backs....the duet with Jordan Knight was a good come back, the single they had actually charted.  As I say, no matter the artist, or band, it takes the right producers and labels and the right backing up as far as getting an album noticed.  Critics raved on Deborah, the self titled album, and here lately I have been liking alot of the newer acts popping up......Deborah just needs to blend in with today's sound. She comes so close...Famous is a great track and so is Already Gone! I think Deborah does well with dance music, since that is how she came across when Only In My Dreams started out that way.  Her ballads such as Foolish Beat and Lost In Your Eyes both hit #1, so again Gibson is not a stranger to the status of #1 hits, or multi platinum status......what I think went wrong, Anything Is Possible, Atlantic is the reason it did not fly over so well.....I really think Deborah can make a come back.....without a doubt!!

Payola  Roll Eyes

One thing that puzzles me about Lady GaGa is that she supposedly writes her own songs and play keyboards, and yet represents everything that's wrong with today's pop music with her overly raunchy stage persona/being more focused on image, computerized singing, and that her songs are no different than from the likes others, IMHO.

There's not many songs that I actually like from the past decade and the number of artists are very, very few.

I hope Lady GaGa is just a passing fad.

Deb  did mention her on Twitter some days ago.

I'll admit that I had a bit of a crush, but it didn't last long. (BTW, that was before the unfortunate rumors)

some thoughts

Since Eric Martin's "Mr. Vocalist" albums have been hits (from few sources) in Japan, it's possible that the upcoming album might be a hit.

In the US, unfortunately would have to say it would be a hard sell since the songs covered are unknown in the states and mostly would be bought by hardcore fans and maybe some casual/nostalgic fans that might be interested in recent material from Deb. Just a guess and not trying to sound negative or anything.

As for the reality show (if picked up), who knows...

As long it's not on VH1 (since that channel is too sleazy). Could fit on Bravo, A&E, or maybe The Hub (when they decide to expand their night time slot outside of classic tv with reality shows like countless other channels).

Doubt she'll ever be respected by the music industry, though don't care since most tend to have favoritism towards certain artists (ie music critics/snobs being biased towards classic rock & alternative) and personally find award shows and the charts overrated.

The latest generation or group of music critics don't even like or respect classic rock.  To them "classic" is anything before 2000 and never, under any circumstances, before 1993.  It's sad but it's true.

I think that the most important thing for Deborah to have a comeback is the support and marketing prowess of a major label.  That doesn't mean it's a sure thing but it can't hurt either.

"I Love You" is #1 on the international cable radio charts  Grin

As for the US (if released), honestly only time will tell and if she's given the right promotion.

Though would be great if it'll top the A/C charts or at least be in the Top 10.  Though I know "Say Goodbye" was in the A/C charts several years ago despite of little airplay.

For some reason, reality tv & bad SyFy Channel movies have been given more buzz.  I still believe she'll have a moderate comeback in the states.

Well, like her 1990 album, "Anything is Possible".

There's  comments on YouTube that question if she still records, which I find odd since a simple search would lead to many songs/performances from recent years and also on the recommended videos on the side.
