That shows nowadays teenages prefer to listen to mediocre music rather that good quality penned music.
Oh that's the truth!

There's still a few good music today, though just not many and not as popular in the mainstream...

It might make a lot of sense for her to go back to Debbie.  It seems that's how most people know her.

If Deb went back to "Debbie", I would not cringe at the idea....also this is an idea I have tossed about before, Debs going country.....I would like to see her do what Richard Marx did....Richard co-wrote a couple of songs for SheDaisy, and they both had like this borderlined pop feel....and I would like to see Deb write and possibly duet with a couple of artists. Would love to see her work with Rascal Flatts, such as writing a song and maybe even dueting with the group, in the same way Reba McEntire has with Brooks and Dunn.  Also why not write a song for acts such as Kellie Pickler or Carrie Underwood?? Whatever Gibson does with her music is always fine with me, I am going to be a fan, and love her just as I always have!  I do get tired of people making fun of her going to Deborah......it is her name after all....so it is totally up to Gibson what she wants to be called.

It would be awesome if Deb does this coz I'm a country music fan too. Loved Rascall Flatts and Carrie Underwood.  Kiss

In Deb recent tweet she did say that I wrote a country hit. Wow! who is the lucky country singer who's gonna record this if Deb's to offer? For my choice I should say that SINGERS with PIPES deserve to record it.  Roll Eyes

I would love for the country song to go to a new group that has come about...the new group I am speaking of is Joey And Rory....they are awesome and also Joey is a former classmate of mine!! She grew up in Alexandria Indiana just like me and also Joey used to sing along with Debbie songs back in the days, such as Lost Your Eyes and Foolish Beat......who knows?? Anything is possible!!!!!!!

Don't tell me Deb wouldn't do very well in country music by mentioning TS.

The Original Donald
Deb never got THAT much support

Deb has been a singer/songwriter that is under rated. What is wrong with those people. Are they still making fun of her songs that she did when she was 16. Oh, gosh that would be pathetic.  Huh

I think that Deborah has always been terribly underrated not only as a singer but as a songwriter too.  The perception of her by music writers and MTV was very different in the early days of her career as opposed to how it was later.  Those first two years or so she was somewhat hearalded as something new and exciting.  When that whole Milli Vanilli thing hit the fan she was sort of lumped into a pile with all other pop groups and acts as well as anyone that had any sort of success at all in the 80s.  All of a sudden it was as if not only her but an entire class and decade of music in one instant became illegitimate.  We had this new group of music writers that promoted this droning, monotone sound all written in minor key coming out of Seattle as if it was the genesis of rock music.  Everything and everyone that had come before just simply didn't exist.  They were so arrogent and thumbed their collective noses at anything that didn't fit their highly narrow definition of what "real music" was.  That's when the music press changed their opinion of Deborah and became disrespectful to her.

What just killed me is how some of them fawned over Paris Hilton like they did.  Some of them practically proclaimed her to be the greatest singer that's ever lived and ever would live.

Debbie's got a ton of talent. Her fans know it. Whether her name is Debbie or Deborah will not make the slightest difference in her career. Eventually the masses will realize how amazing she is regardless of which first name she uses.
