That album was great for us die hard fans cause it featured lots of songs, but 16 was way too much, back then most cds were 10-11-12 songs.Take out the 4 weakest tracks and you have an amazing album.

As far as the AIP song for my taste its the weakest single she ever released. If i had to rank the songs from the cd it would be #15 out of 16

The ballads were better than the uptempo tracks. "One Step Ahead" was catchy, though wouldn't rank it on a personal "Top 10" list.

Not on the poll, but "Sure" sounded like a potential hit, IMHO.

Recently I recollected Deb's album in CD format (I had AIP in casette too) and I kinda fall in love with the album again. Listening to this 19 years later gives me a different feel.  Wink

Problem is nobody would agree on which songs to keep and which to discard... Though there seems to be some sort of consensus that the ballads are far better than the uptempo songs. I certainly agree.

I think the biggest problem with that album was that it didn't really fit into any distinct category.  Atlantic seemed to be having real problems and questions as to just how they were going to promote it.  Was it a pop album, or an Adult Contemporary album, that kind of thing?  I think that they ended up not doing very much to promote it, at least not like they had her first two albums.
