Geocities is shutting down

Most of the fan sites from that server are either long defunct or just abandoned.

Though there's one favorite that has about 40 pics: "Debbie Gibson World"...

Pictures

Captures

Nothing really spectactular, but still a decent site...

Facts (most appeared to been taken from "Pop Up Video", when it aired "Foolish Beat" over a  decade ago)

Quote
-Full name Deborah Ann Gibson 8/31/70 Merrick, NY

-Wrote an Opera at age eight

-Also wrote a #1 hit at the age of thirteen

-Became the youngest person to write, record, and produce a #1 hit

-Debbie can kick Tiffany's Butt in a mud wrestling match

-Many of her fans write to Deb about their weight problems

-In 1989 a folk-rock singer wrote a song "Debbie Gibson is pregnant with my two-headed love child"

-Amy Fisher came from the same town as Deb

-She wrote the song Foolish Beat in a Bathroom of an airplane

-The Foolish Beat video was filmed on St. Pactricks Day 1988

-Cops had to stop the parade so the video can be shot

-Cameos in the Foolish Beat video are her back-up singers, grandpa , cousin Albert, and her classmates at Calhoun High in Merrick

-Also in the video, the flowers were white carnations with red coloring during post production. The director wanted to use red roses

-But they were too expensive

-She lists as her influences as Elton John and Billy Joel

-Although Debbie is seen to be the girl right next door, on her tour(s), there was unsupervised dancing with the opposite sex, loud music and even a food fight in Toronto. Did Debbie participate? Don't be foolish

...though that's also where I got the flashing sig of "Shake Your Love" (I'll google for another pic...)

A lot of sites have disappeared from Geocities in the past couple of years.
