Top 10 Let Downs and Other Junk in Music (2000's)
10. rap music
Hasn't been good since the mid 1990's...
9. emo
I liked it when it was called alternative. For some reason, most alternative fans tend to be snobs and trash the "mainstream". A bit ironic since alternative is mainstream.
8. Disney Channel
I prefer Disney animation rather than manufactured pop acts...
7. MTV2
No different than the original...
Another mention: Fuse, basically what MTV would still be like if they still play videos. Still not good. Though I rarely watch it (a Duffy interview and 'Videos That Rocked The World")
6. Art of the music video is over
While there's a few good clips like White Stripes "Fell In Love With A Girl", they're hardly shown on MTV & VH1 and pretty much a lost art form.
5. music downloading
I'm pretty much an old fashioned person who still buys CDs. Heck, I even collect vinyl and don't even own an Ipod.
4. New upcoming bands that turns out to have only a few good songs (most of the time... less than three) like The Killers and White Stripes. Though I'm not heavily into most of today's music
3. Ashley Tisdale
There was a time when I actualy took her serious as an actress, but not a singer. Scarlett Johansson admitted that her material is avant garde (ie artsy), but Tisdale claimed that she wrote songs and going to sound "different" despite that she's no different that other pop princesses of the decade.
2. The popularity of certain acts still baffle me... (no names mentioned)
One example was a "SNL" scandal, which the person was still topping the charts for another year or two. Thankfully she isn't as popular anymore.
1. The fact the music industry haven't changed for over a decade
'nuff said

BTW, I don't like Scarlett's music, but she admitted that her music wouldn't appeal to the mainstream and/or pop listener.

I think we should call this decade the Awful Aughts, and blame it all on Simon Coward. The Original GGRDonald thinks deb should try DWTS.

The term "one hit wonder" and also the The Top 40 since there's other charts and many good songs have never actually made the charts and some new wave & rock bands had better songs

Never considered Eminem to be great
Saw the recent video on AMTV, which is funny despite that it's already dated since it poked fun at Amy Winehouse, Sarah Palin, Jessica Simpson (a look-a-like dressed as Daisy Dukes), and the song mentioned K-Fed, which isn't with Britney anymore, and probably a few others.

Green Day haven't done any good songs for over a decade, IMHO
Though a few from "American Idiot" were OK, though I pretty much prefer their early hits like "Welcome To Paradise" & "Basket Case".

Never considered Eminem to be great
Because he's not. He's not far removed from Ashlee Simpson.

Never was into The Eagles, though I can tolerate Don Henley's "Dirty Laundry" & "All She Wants To Do Is Dance" & Glenn Fry's "You Belong To The City".

"Hotel California" was a good song though. What's so funny is that most people have no idea what the Hotel California really was.

Cocteau TwinsThough don't think they were ever mainstream, but I find their music too boring and doesn't really appeal...
