This is now...
Gibson had earned her Equity Card before she was even a teenager and went on to star in 17 musicals in under two decades. "Eight shows a week for the better part of 17 years, film, TV, running my Electric Youth performing, composing and producing programme for kids, and I've never stopped doing concerts," she explains of the many strings to her bow after her chart career faltered.
She starred in the internationally-panned 'Mega Shark vs Giant Octupus' (Read about it here) movie last year. But what about the future?
"I'm doing a
recording project that I can't talk about yet, as well as a
film that will blow people's minds in a really campy way, gearing up for the
summer camp, fine tuning a presentation for
my reality show, and getting ready to head east for ‘
Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy' at MGM Foxwood! I then go to
Asia this autumn for concerts and promo! Whew!" she explained.
Debbie has retained many fans from her heyday, particularly in the gay community, who "have supported me in a way that no other has" and says she has not given up on the idea of one last hit. "I am ready for my Tina Turner/Cher radio comeback moment! I've been counted out so many times but I'm like a boomerang. I keep comin' back! Actually, I never left. You just have to know where to find me!" she told Yahoo! Music, suggesting fans visit her official website if they want to learn more.
