See Donald, I told you it was a good idea (well at least, not a bad one).

That's right in Deb and Tiff's alley. They did poke fun at their rivalry in the Quebec City's concert and they do it again. It makes people talk and I think it's great !

Damn, I'm always right !!! Sometimes it sucks to always be right but thankfully, not always !

http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1642261/20100624/gibson_debbie.jhtml

1980s rival pop stars will appear together in Syfy Saturday night movie.

If you thought watching a supersized shark take on an equally supersized octopus was entertaining, wait'll you get a load of what the Asylum is cooking up for Syfy. Prepare yourself for ... "Mega Python vs. Gatoroid"!

The Hollywood Reporter reveals that 1980s pop stars Deborah "Debbie" Gibson and Tiffany will star together in the Syfy original Saturday night movie, to be produced by "Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus" studio the Asylum. Both Gibson and Tiffany have previously appeared in Asylum films — Gibson in "Mega Shark ..." and Tiffany in "Mega Piranha" — but this is the first time the duo will appear in a film together.

Gibson will play an animal rights activist who specializes in freeing — what else? — exotic snakes from pet stores and setting them loose in the Everglades, where they, of course, grow to enormous sizes. Tiffany is set for the role of a park ranger who "uses dangerous methods to save endangered alligators." The script reportedly includes a scene in which the two stars brawl, moving from a bar interior out to the muddy swamp.

The project apparently came about after Tiffany approached Syfy with the request that she and Gibson appear together in a movie, playing on their old pop culture rivalry. Gibson and Tiffany were never actually at odds with one another, but they were frequently portrayed that way by the media.

"Mega Python vs. Gatoroid" is set to start shooting this month. "Pet Sematary" and classic-Madonna-video helmer Mary Lambert will direct, with a script from Naomi Selfman, who wrote the 2004 horror flick "Evil Eyes," starring Adam Baldwin, Jennifer Gates and Udo Kier.

I recall there was a movie planned titled "Teen Queens", which would feature Deb & Tiffany from a decade ago. Can't find info and the sypnosis isn't listed on the IMDB.

It was probably was to be a VH1 tv movie and would feature them (obiviously) as former pop rivals.

That's exactly what I was thinking! Can't believe this is her big news, sound lame and I'm not a fan of Tiffany so I will not watch it.

It's sounds cheesey but I will watch it only because I am kind of interested in how well the mix working together on the small screen.   Missed Mega Parona  I have only seen Tiffany on that 80's show I have very little to judge by.

I was listening to my local talk radio this morning and they made this their first news story. Of course they made fun of it. They mostly mention Deb and exaggerate the rivalry between her and Tiffany. I thought they might mention it during their "celebutard" news so I wasn't expecting them to talk about it so early in the program.

Here the link if you want to hear it for yourself:

Click on the link to hear it from your computer and it will be on the June 25, 2010 show 6AM hour. It will take a few minutes to buffer and you can fast forward to 22:45.

I'm not surprised that people would trash it.  That's been the trend with radio now for at least the past 10 years, to trash everything and be insulting.  If somebody is going to do that they should at least be funny but they aren't even that.  I think some will trash Deborah no matter what.  It's just their default reaction to anything she does.  If she had another #1 hit they would just dismiss it as a fluke and not give her any credit for it.

Rewind 94.9 had the story on there news blog the other day.   They call them selves an 80's station but they don't play Deb and Tiffany.  I have heard NKOTB on there from time to time go figure.
