Deb plays Katy Perry's mother in her latest music video "Last Friday Night". Deb appears at 4:55 and on the credits, it states that her character's name is "Tiffany"... Deb's husband in the music video is played by Corey Feldman and various other celebs appear in the video. Also the many of the YouTube comments hardly mentioned Deb... Rebecca Black? Well, atleast the video didn't include the latest internet meme... As for the video, Katy Perry isn't my ball o' wax though good to see a cameo of Deb on a music video from a current pop singer

Well I guess she did from the looks of the video. Deb never really mentioned before. I had to laugh at Kenny G

I like this. Not only is it good for Deborah but it's a good video and song.
There are a lot of hack names in music right now that are marginally talented if at all but Katy Perry is an exception. I don't like every one of her songs but she does have some good ones. I at least have respect for Katy Perry.

Nothing yet on the blog.
Are there any behind the scenes footage of the video or pics of Deb with Katy Perry or any of the cast on her official site or any entertainment site?

I talked about the video (and working on my socializing skills), though not as much on Deb. She admitted to being a fan of Hanson as a teenager and questioned if Deb sang country. She probably got confused by reading a recent article on her touring with Tiffany.
Also got stuck on a conversation with another person about current music, which I tried to change the subject with no avail. Especially that I'm not a fan of Katy Perry, Lady GaGa, and not familiar with others and/or only familiar by name. While that may appear as a generation gap, I'm in my mid 20's and the person looked much older. Not really odd since there's people in their 30's & '40's that are into current music and younger adults that prefer music from a past era and vice versa.
added: For some reason, I picture Cyndi Lauper a better role since she had that kooky image in the '80's and dressed bizarre like many new wave & pop artists of her time and female singers such as Katy Perry herself today. Nothing against Deb's role or anything (she looked hot) and just a thought while listening to the radio from the background.

Cyndi Lauper would really be too old for that role now. The funny thing is that Deborah might be a few years too young for it right now.
Can you imagine having to wear braces with head gear like that?

Perry was born in 1984, which Deb was around 13/14.
Though her geeky "Ugly Betty-esque" alter-ego in the video was a teenager.
Ironically, Katy Perry's character was 13.

Interview, which Deb talks about the video sourceIn the video, Perry assumes the identity of 13-year-old "Kathy Beth Terry," the victim of a parent-free Friday night party gone too far.
At the clip's end, "Terry"'s parents - Feldman and Gibson - make an urgent return home. "I got some crazy text from 'Uncle Kenny,' who said he was gonna start playing the sax again," says Feldman/"Kirk Terry." "Can't let that happen."
The clip marks Gibson's latest good-natured poke at her past. Earlier this year, she teamed with Tiffany in the Syfy movie "Mega Python vs. Gatoroid." (Gibson scored nine top 40 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 between 1987 and 1991, including the No. 1s "Foolish Beat" and "Lost in Your Eyes").
The "Friday" video has totaled 8.8 million YouTube views since its premiere. "Friday," the fifth single from Perry's album "Teenage Dream," bounds 31-25 with Greatest Gainer honors on Billboard's Pop Songs chart. (All charts will be refreshed tomorrow (June 16) on Billboard.com).
Via e-mail, Billboard spoke with Gibson about playing mom to one of pop's biggest stars.
How did your involvement in the video come about?
I got an e-mail through my management from the casting director, Chad Ritterbach, and the co-director, Danny Lockwood. I am a huge Katy Perry fan and was honored to be invited to come on down and join the party! Or, um, break up the party ...
What is your overall impression of the video and its ode to the '80s?
It is amazing how current the extras looked. Everything has come full circle; nowadays, Rihanna is wearing shoulder pads, as is Fergie.
I love that it was shot on film and has the epic feel of an old Michael Jackson video, with an actual storyline. I commend the director, Marc Klasfeld, and Danny Lockwood for taking such care and Katy for raising the bar.
It is so easy to cut corners on a budget and throw any old thing out there, but this video really pays respect to video-making as an art form. It takes from the old and combines it with the new, making it so relevant.
Is it an honor to play Katy Perry's mother, especially since you're not really old enough to be in real life?
Yes! It is funny because I could have had an adverse reaction to hearing I would be playing the mom. I actually dress more like the kids who are at the party in real life!
I play a mom aged 35-40 and channeled my mom ... right down to the look of the permed hair.
Hmm, where did your character's first name -- "Tiffany" -- come from?
Ha! In case you have not heard, Tiffany and I are playing some concerts together this summer. So, when it came to coming up with my first name in the video, she was the first person I thought of.
It is a big wink-wink to the audience. (At least, to the children of the '80s!)

I thought Katy Perry was younger than that. I was thinking she was born in the late 80s.

VH1 still airs music videos for about 3 or 4 hours during the dusk hours and MTV also airs videos during the dusk, though about 4 days a week (with a "news ticker" at the bottom of the screen).
Fuse airs music videos in regular viewing hours though music channels aren't relevant due to the internet.

I think another big reason for the decline of music videos is that they just weren't "hip" to a certain group anymore. They more or less saw videos as being "so 80s" and everything 80s is "totally not hip" to them. They also ride fixed gear bicycles, wear a scarf in the middle of summer, and drive Volvo 240s.
